The week of January 18-22
This week in class we learned about how to create a professional autobiographical presentation of ourselves. We also learned how to target certain messages to our audience and see how to better get across what we are trying to say.

8) The general audience of this situation would be any consumer looking to buy a high definition tv set or any "bargain" hunting people. Toward a discount of any kind, the audience's reaction would probably be content or excited; depending on the amount of discount that will be given. From the audience's standpoint, main key points they would need to know would include location of internet site or store if applicable, amount of discount that will be given on the televisions, and how long the discount period will last.
9) The audience for this advertisement of peanut butter includes just about the entire general public. Most everyone eats peanut butter or has eaten peanut butter and is familiar with what it is. But, more specifically, mothers looking to buy some for their children. The audience's initial reaction will probably not be as focused. For one, peanut butter is a common item and doesn't come but in so many different ways. Maybe if a discount was added to the sale's slogan people would be more enticed. The main key points of the advertisement should be where the product can be purchased, what makes it better than all the rest of the other peanut butter products (since there are so many), and if any specific prices or discounts are included at the current time.

the week of January 11-15
I am beginning to understand that business communication is more than just the simple fact of talking. It involves how we speak and with what manner. Different cultures are accustomed to different things. Not only verbal speech, but how we communicate electronically says a lot about the kind of person you are as well.
